Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo |Â Introduction
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo was recently launched without much fanfare, or even a proper announcement, and if you look at the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, it might be easier to understand why. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has weaker points not only when compared to the latest Grand 2, but even to last year’s Galaxy Grand; it falls short on a few aspects. While not being in the high end phone segment as the Samsung Galaxy S5 The handset sports a 5 inch screen with very low pixel density, but the rest of the specs are still better of, not so good, but still better. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo offers you 21 Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a quad-core processor. However, the original Galaxy Grand still sells worldwide, and actually offers higher resolution camera and video recording, which raises some eyebrows, so let’s see what Samsung is hoping for with the Grand Neo. Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo | Specifications and Review
DesignA chubby budget 5-incher with traditional design and matte plastic back.
The handset spreads in 5.66 x 3.04 x 0.38†(143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6 mm) dimensions, and weighs the serious 5.75 oz (163g), so it’s neither compact nor light in comparison with other 5-inchers out there. The rounded corners and physical home key scream “Samsungâ€, but the back is made of matte white plastic, instead of the company’s usual glossy finish. The matte surface is actually nicer to the touch, less slippery, and doesn’t attract fingerprints. Grand Neo sports an easily removable back cover, which grants you access to the mini SIM and memory card slots, as well as to the swappable 2100 mAh battery. The side keys blend well with the chrome rim imitation around the phone, and are easy to feel and press without looking, providing good tactile feedback. The same goes for Samsung’s traditional physical home key underneath the display
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo sports a  5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. By providing a disappointing resolution of 480 X 800 pixels with a pixel density of as low as 186 ppi (pixels per inch), Samsung has let down the users. The display is not at all sharp, something that doesn’t surprise for this low resolution
Even in the Camera section, Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo doesn’t fail to disappoint. A 5 Megapixel camera with the highest resolution of 2592  x 1944 pixels, it comes with autofocus and LED flash. The camera is pretty much the same as we have had in Samsung Galaxy Duos, which is a disappointment, as in 2014, in the same price segment, we have 8 MP cameras now. Even the Galaxy Grand had an 8 MP camera. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has a VGA secondary camera. Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo supports video recording at 720p
Processor and OS
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo runs on android 4.2 jellybean and no further updates have been proposed till date. The Processor is a pretty decent one, A Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor running on a mediatek BCM23550 chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo comes with an internal memory of 8GB/16 GB (model dependent) and 1 GB RAM. Again nothing so great about these specs in this price range. In fact brands like Micromax are giving double of what Samsung has to offer.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has a  2100 mAh Li-Ion battery, which gives a pretty decent battery backup. But you still have to full charge it at least once a day for nominal usage and even twice a day with wifi/3G.
